In making comments you need not limit yourself to the following questions or space. If you would like to propose a new pilot, please use the Build-Your-Own-Pilot Form.

The group is interested in reasoned critiques of its proposals and in new and innovative ideas for the future of the Forest Service. This is not a vote. In addition to new ideas for pilots, the group is particularly interested in your opinions on the following questions.

Pilot forests can test changes in the Forest Service's mission, governance structures, budgeting process, and on-the-ground management. It is up to you to figure out a combination that makes sense.

Hypothesis and Mission

Each pilot should have a name for identification and a brief explanation of the hypothesis the pilot is testing.

The Forest Options Group decided not to write a mission statement for any of its pilots. But you may wish to write a mission statement for your pilot. This statement should briefly describe the goals and objectives of national forest management under your pilot.
